happy anniversary baby

Tomorrow is our 34th wedding anniversary and when i look back over those years i just thank God for His hand upon our lives.
Steve and i were childhood sweethearts. I remember sitting near him in class and he used to pass me little notes , we got told off so many times for chatting in class.
We were both in scouting and so used to meet up a lot on weekends camping. I remember once we were doing an assault course and we both ended up under the tarpaulin, people were pulling our legs for taking so long coming out!! chuckles.
Our first date was to the cinema to see "King Kong " ( the original ! ) 1968 .I remember when he tried to kiss me we bumped noses..we were both so innocent.
Time moved on and we eventually got engaged when we were 19 and married at 21. Our wedding day was a very small affair but beautiful.
To this very day he is still the same Steve.Thankfully having his stroke didn't change his character and he is still the most loving, kind and considerate man i have ever met.
When i think back to our vows , through sickness and health i realise how true that is. I love him more now, even through illness and trials.

And so today i say Happy Anniversary my love...I pray that we get many more together.

Have a great weekend everyone..

A wedding to make you smile

After probably one of the most difficult weeks ever, this is a new week, new start, new challenges but a clean slate.

Sometimes I get so caught up in the ” what ifs ” that i forget that God already knows the answer and that i should always just listen to Him. He has my best interests at heart after all.

Saturday was a lovely day. My colleague and friend Leanne got married. We have been planning her wedding for over a year and so to see her achieve her dream was wonderful. She had almost given up finding her “Mr right” but last year in he stepped and now she is Mrs right.. The sun shone ( which was a miracle ) and everything was perfect. There is nothing nicer than seeing a bride walk down the aisle. Will share a couple of photos with you …

Sorry the photos are all over the place, i still cant get the hang of how to put them in my post!

Hope you enjoyed looking at these with me.The photo below was of myself and my colleagues .
Ive been asked to go to Northern Cyprus at the end of May for 4 days. Its a country Ive never been to so it will be interesting to see what it involves. Its going to be a busy educational though. So far i have 18 hotels in 2 days to visit so had better take good walking shoes! The trainee Katie who has only been with us since October won a trip to South Africa and is visiting Kruger Game reserve, she is so excited about it. Its a trip of a lifetime for her and shes only 18! Shes a good kid and we get on so well, in fact she calls me her second mum!! lol
Hoping you are all having a good week. Remember to live a lot and laugh a lot…its infectious!
God Bless you

Prayers answered

I had my other tests done this morning and after a very painful experience the tests came out negative. It is just some tissue that’s causing a problem but nothing serious.

I had to chuckle though as we were sitting in the waiting room the TV was on. There is a chat programme here called “the Jeremy Kyle show” a bit like Oprah but more aggressive. On it was a young couple who were fighting because she wanted a ” boob” job and he wouldn’t pay for it. And there we were , about 20 of us women sitting waiting for a doctor to find out if in time we would actually have any boobs to worry about. Thankfully we found it funny and it actually broke the ice in there.

So good news, another hurdle to jump but all is good.

God bless you and ty for your prayers

mammograms

That word sends shivers down my spine, whoever invented them must have been a man!

Last Weds i had mine at the local hospital and was told to wait a few weeks for the results, i wasn't unduly worried as i haven't found anything abnormal or anything .

This morning just 5 days later i got a letter in the post asking me to go to the City Hospital and the breast clinic for more tests . I rang them up as i thought it might be the actual machine malfunctioning but they assured me it wasn't and that my breasts had some significant changes since my last scan.

So yes i am nervous and apprehensive. I trust God in everything and know i am having my faith put to a test. I am so ready to encourage people to have faith, now i have to put my money where my mouth is ..and do it.

I am thankful I don't have long to wait and weds is nearly here. Prayers and good thoughts would be really appreciated .

God bless you

Sad day

You go through life jumping hoops and achieving goals and in a way expect it to go in a certain pattern. Born, grow up, meet someone , get married, have kids, then grand kids etc etc.

I know life isn't so black and white. I know that for sure as i didn't expect Steve to have a stroke at 48 and not able to work again. But you take what life throws at you and get on with it don't you?

My youngest daughter in law has PKU. Its a life threatening disease that meant she may never had children but until today shes lived with that hope.

She went to the specialist today who confirmed that she will not be able to have a baby and my heart is breaking for her. She feels “different” to other girls, she said she feels she cant give my son what he wants and feels a failure.

How can you put into words how special she is to us all. How much we love her and how much more important it is to have her alive and well in our lives .

They are travelling up to see us this weekend and she is going to get the biggest hug i can find.

Yes I am hurting for her and in a way i feel robbed too. I would have loved to have been a Grandma but no way will she ever hear that from me.

Be kind to one another this weekend , God bless you .

Hi everyone

I apologise for not updating sooner but life has been busy and my poor laptop died on me so ive had to rely on this old lady ( the computer ) and shes a tad slow!!

Weve also been away to the amazing Azores. If anyone has a chance to try it out please go, its like going back in time. The scenery was just amazing , the bird life just spectacular and we even managed to go dolphin and whale watching.
These are the lakes that the Azores are famous for...sete cidades. In the Seven Cities Old Kingdom there was a king which has a very pretty daughter. This little princess loved the country life so much that she walked a lot throughout the fields, contemplating mounts and valleys, villages and customs.
On a beautiful day she found a young shepherd and talked lastingly with him, and, one day, those long talks turned into a romance. Since then they started to meet every day, swearing love and mutual affection.
But the princess's father already decided her destiny because of a prince, heir of another kingdom, which intended her hand. Therefore the King had to suspend this romance with the shepherd. Thus, the princess was forbidden to meet with him again, although her father consents her a last farewell with the shepherd. But, when they met for the last time, both of them cried so much that, at their feet, two lagoons were formed: a blue one, made of the fallen tears of the pretty princess blue eyes; the other, green, made by the spilled tears of the young shepherd green eyes.
The two amorous were separated for always, but the two lagoons made from their tears remained together for the all eternity"

Probably a load of tosh but its nice and romantic isnt it?

Weather was a bit mixed but it is their winter so i wasnt expecting anything too sunny. We hired a car for a couple of days and nearly ended down the mountain side, but thats another story..needless to say we made it back safely!

This photo about sums the island up, I havent even had chance to do anything with it so this is straight from my basic camera. Arent the colours amazing?

Will post more another day rather than overload you but i wanted to share these with you.

Am trying so hard to get into Blogger and slowly but surely i am winning.

Take care and God bless

Its Snowing !!

We have had some weird weather here in the UK but i have to say i love it! Thankfully it never lasts long so it really is exciting for us. I do appreciate you in the USA who have to live with this for weeks on end, that would drive me crazy i think.
So today i am going outside and going to make a snowman and finally do a snow angel. I have never done one before and am so excited!
Tonight our church has organised a massive snowball fight on the Sconce Hills near us so that should be fun too. I will prolly be the eldest there but do i care??? nope . i love it!
The only ones not happy are the kitties and its really funny watching them sitting in the window trying to catch the snowflakes..
Today is my mums birthday and we were going out for lunch which is now cancelled. Instead we are donning wellington boots and walking an hour to see her. That should be fun too.
So no gym today for me but i am surely going to get loads of exercise. they say laughing is good exercise don't they? and in this climate there,s not a lot to laugh about so this will be good today.
Wherever you are, be safe, be warm and God bless you.

day of pampering

Tomorrow myself and my daughter in law and a few friends are going for a day of pampering. I was given this as a Christmas gift from her. I cant think of a nicer idea right now, shes a gem!
I don't know about you but i find it hard to do just "me " times. So laying on a table for an hour and half is going to kill me!!! i will probably be organising menus or sorting some list out in my mind while i am laid there!...Ive been told it will send me to sleep so lets see..** chuckles.

My son is still looking for work but is managing to keep pretty upbeat, it will be nice to spend time with him too tomorrow. Hubby will take him for lunch and i think they are doing the cinema while we are at the spa, so he will enjoy that.

Its getting pretty bad in our town right now. Shops are closing daily and a lot of the tiny shops have gone under. Its such a shame because these shops sold all the little unusual things that you wouldn't get in the big stores. Yesterday i had a lovely family who had to cancel their holiday. There were 13 of them and had booked a special family holiday to Florida in the summer. I remember it vividly the day i booked it. one of the children was in a wheelchair and i remember how excited this little girl was that she was finally going to see Mickey Mouse..today i nearly wept with them as they signed the cancellation papers. Two of the men had been made redundant , their jobs gone...its times like this i hate my job. All i could do is offer a smile and sympathy, bless them.

4 weeks tomorrow and we go to the Azores, its getting close now and our tickets arrived today which makes it even closer.Steve is so looking forward to seeing Whales, i really hope they play ball and come out to play that day!!

Have a wonderful weekend whatever you are doing, and please keep safe and warm.

God bless

Good morning

Hi fellow JS,ers . I hope you all had a great weekend . Reading Dorries forum this morning it said our poor Journalspace had been sold. While it makes me sad,I am still hopeful we can still ressurect it from the ashes somehow. I am thankful for Dorrie and Wheelie for helping us find each other.
Life is getting back to normal now our friends have gone home, i do miss them though.
Work is pretty slow at the minute too and yesterday we opened our doors on a Sunday for the very first time since we opened 25 years ago. The boss worked it and Ive yet to find out how busy it was. Its scary how many shops in our small town are closing due to the recession, the biggest one was Woolworth's which was a real family store and has been around forever!
This year i am determined to lose the weight. Ive joined whale watchers and its slowly coming off, although Ive fallen off the wagon over Christmas!

I do miss you guys, there are still a few who i haven't found yet but my middle name is " never give up"

God bless you all..have a good day and keep safe

Recovering from Christmas

First i want to say thankyou to those who ive managed to find on here, some i can read but cant add so i need to work on that one, mr scribbs for one.

Yesterday we said goodbye to our 3 Maltese friends who have been here since 23rd December. While i loved every minute it was hard work and today i feel washed out. We had some great times though. My penfriend supports Manchester United football club so we spent the day in Manchester going around Old Trafford Ground. I guess if you are interested in football it was exciting, but just give me the shops anytime, now that IS exciting!

We had to visit casualty ( ER ) while they were here as one had a bad asthma attack, we put it down to it being so cold, one day it got down to minus 4. They aren't used to cold weather.

So today its trying to get back to normal. I miss the company but it sure is nice to have my space back again...

Wishing you all a very happy new year ...God bless you
